A snug bakery, located in Delhi’s prime retail space – Khan Market, The Artful Baker is one of Lite Bite Food’s finest productions. The bakery offers the best of artisanal breads & patisserie, combining authentic technique with quality ingredients. The design intervention required us to create a highly functional space with unconventional aesthetics. The outlook of the bakery was to be fun yet gourmet. Functional, exclusive, artisanal and subtle were the key words that were a starting point of our design process.

Being a small site, creating a highly functional space was a large challenge in this project. The space welcomes you with a solid wood framed façade, glass windows with oak wood moldings, golden vinyl details and an antique casted door handle. Branded with an oak wood and metal shelving system with classic beading details, fluted matte black paneling, a patterned blue and white cement floor, subway tiles that carry into the open kitchen, unfinished putty ceiling, exposed circuit wiring. A large custom-made illustration initially created for packaging was modified for the space and printed on a cement board to add a wade of colour to the space. A suspended oak wood ledge running along the façade creates an endearing corner for quick coffee and cake.
