Noida / 2023 / Area 5000 sq. ft.

Choreographed with a delicate balance, the AFEW office space reflects the brand’s essence in a refined, contemporary setting. Crafted with local materials and subtle drama, the work-studio embraces openness, collaboration, and wellness through biophilic cues and sculptural elements.
The 5,000 sq ft layout integrates creative & administrative functions within a fluid environment. The workspace moves away from hierarchical models to encourage dialogue and flexibility. The principles of ‘work alone, work alone together, and work together’ shape the spatial flow and relationships.
The central 11-seater boardroom is a stately space framed by foliage-printed glazing, centred around a solid wood conference table. A neutral beige palette of jute carpeting, lime-washed walls and birch shelving is enlivened by curated framed artwork, while an origami-inspired piece outside continues the attention to craft and detail.
Visible through fluted glass shutters, the pantry and lunch area unfolds in a vibrant green palette, creating a refreshing contrast. Terrazzo and handmade tiles pair with oak shelving at the counter, while flexible wooden seating under concrete pendants offers a relaxed setting for rejuvenation, accented by origami artworks inspired by the elements.
From the eastern entry, administrative areas line the north, while design studios occupy the west, with zoning oriented to maximise daylight and create warm, productive work environments. The reception branches into two corridors leading to these zones, anchored by a central boardroom and open workspace, where glass partitions and curated art animate the transition spaces.
Designed for the brand’s contemporary prêt line, the office extends the designer’s repertoire through abstract biophilic references balanced with clean lines. A dramatic origami-inspired sculptural light installation by hexagram artist Ankon Mitra defines the reception, its flowing, luminous forms creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that subtly guides movement through the space.
Extending the spirit of openness and flexibility, the open workspace is conceived as a seamless, modular environment with ample storage. Centred on fashion design and production, it works in tandem with the adjacent khakha or pattern-making room. A cohesive palette of green terrazzo, olive pewter ceilings and lime plaster walls continues across the designers’ areas, while metal-framed glass sliders balance visual transparency with acoustic privacy. Curved wall niches accommodate dress-form mannequins for quick ideation and design development.
Poised within an ambience of artistry and exquisite fashion, the Rahul Mishra studio unfolds like a charming design narrative – replete with handcrafted elements and artful corners!
